Paddle-to-the-Sea has taught children and adults alike about the natural and cultural wonders of the Great Lakes. It remains timely seven decades after its initial publication. Follow Paddle-to-the-Sea, a carving of a young Indian boy in a canoe, on a journey through all the Great Lakes.
This Lit Trip is a remarkable collection of teacher resources. Each location place marker contains a brief plot summary, information on the location, geographic features, themes, and links to kid friendly resource websites.
This Google Earth KMZ file, along with more information about teaching with virtual globes, is available at Great Lakes Mapping Mashups (http://greatlakesmashups.net/stonelab2010/).
